Marci Needham is a senior strategic insights professional with significant experience in building and developing product innovation pipelines and research initiatives to evolve product performance, drive business and meet consumer needs. Marci is Vice President, Insights & Category Management for Ventura Foods, a function she started when she joined the company in 2012. In that time, she has developed the insights discipline to provide customers with value-added data and environmental consideration to drive growth of profitable products and platforms. Marci oversees all categories of Ventura’s business, including Field Foodservice, Retail, International and Corporate Chain businesses.
Prior to Ventura, Marci led Strategic Insights, Category Management and Innovation areas for Mars Food, and helped to establish the CocoaVia platform for heart healthy chocolate, addressing the use of dark chocolate with health benefits. She also led to the relaunch of Uncle Ben’s Rice and the portfolio development of Seeds of Change, the certified organic seed and food company, as well as achieving Category Captainship at Walmart for the Rice and Grains category.
Marci held progressive roles at Nestle, ConAgra and Kellogg’s prior to Mars. Marci began her career with Taco Bell Corporation as part of the Sensory Science and Product Research team that developed successful new menu items such as 7 Layer Burrito and Gordita platforms.
