Carl Howard is CEO of Fazoli’s, America’s largest fast-casual Italian chain. Over the past few years, Carl has re-engineered Fazoli’s from a QSR concept facing many challenges to a thriving and growing fast casual brand with over 35 locations planned to open in the next two years. Under his leadership, Fazoli’s continues to experience tremendous sales momentum. Franchised restaurants are currently experiencing 3x the sales growth versus the industry and have now posted 17 consecutive quarters of same store sales growth and have seen sales remain positive for 78 of the last 82 months.
In 2016, Fazoli’s was awarded the Gold Stevie for Top Food and Beverage Concept of the Year by the American Business Association. Carl was personally named the Gold Stevie Award Winner as the 2013 Food and Beverage Executive of the Year and in 2015 the New York Post named Fazoli’s as one of the top five brands to become the next Chipotle.
Fazoli’s generosity with corporate resources is reflected in their core values that giving back is an honor and obligation. Carl encourages Fazoli’s employees’ involvement in Feed the Children, a worldwide organization who exists to end childhood hunger. Carl personally attends several food distributions annually and pushes Fazoli’s to raise over $250K annually for this great cause.
