Paul Brown, CEO of Inspire Brands, has been named the 2018 Norman Award honoree by Nation’s Restaurant News.
This award was developed in memory of the late Norman Brinker to recognize an industry executive, annually, whose leadership philosophy and actions have had a significant impact on their industry peers and have also inspired future industry leaders. Award honoree must be a sterling example of continuing the legacy of selfless leadership and mentoring that the late Norman Brinker was so highly regarded for in our industry.
Paul Brown, CEO of Inspire Brands Brown serves as CEO of Inspire Brands, a multi-brand restaurant company whose portfolio includes more than 4,600 Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, and R Taco locations worldwide.
Prior to founding Inspire Brands, Paul Brown was CEO of Arby’s Restaurant Group, where he launched several transformative initiatives across the brand’s global system with a focus on innovation that improved guest experience, energy efficiency and a successful team member training program.
Under Brown’s leadership, Arby’s global system sales surged 20% to $3.7 billion, and Arby’s U.S. system restaurants achieved average annual sales that were 22% higher than before Brown arrived.
The Norman Award recipient is selected annually by an Advisory Board comprised of previous Norman Award winners: Cheryl Bachelder, Doug Brooks, J. Patrick Doyle, Rick Federico, Philip J. Hickey Jr., Jon Luther, John Miller and Sally Smith.
