MUFSO 2009 Show Highlights
The 50th Anniversary Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators (MUFSO) conference, held in Dallas at the Hilton Anatole Hotel on October 4-6, 2009, was an event not to be missed. Nearly 600 foodservice professionals shared strategies for survival in these tough economic times, discussed best practices on everything from social media to franchise financing, and found time in between to celebrate industry icons.
A special tribute to the late Norman Brinker was an event to remember, and industry executives celebrated 2009 Pioneer Richard
Melman of Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises and 2009 Operator of the Year Jim Greco of Bruegger’s Bagels, along with other Golden Chain honorees.Keynote speakers William C. Taylor of Fast Company fame, Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author of The Black Swan, and Frances X. Frei from Harvard Business School, educated MUFSO attendees on how to better busin esses through quick thinking, preparing for unforeseen events and elevating customer service.
